The Bachelor of Computer Science specializing in Software Engineering is offered by the Department of Software Engineering. The programme focuses on the practical and theoretical dimensions of computer science, and prepares students for careers in the fields of computing and software development. This programme is designed to produce graduates who are in-demand by the industry due to their ability to produce quality software through the use of excellent principles and technique's of analysis, design, development and testing. This makes software engineering graduates are highly paid and sought after on the labour market.
The Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) (Hons.) programme is value-added with the latest industry requirements where by syllabus of Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE-FL) by International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) and Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) by International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) are embedded within two courses:
- Requirements Engineering, and
- Software Testing.
In addition to this, the programme is also designed to enable graduates to pursue higher qualifications in software engineering such as professional certifications as well as Master of Software Engineering or Master of Computer Science degree and Doctor of Philosophy degree from UNITEN as well as from other reputable institutions of higher learning.
Graduates from our College have the flexibility to choose to be in various career paths in ICT e.g. Computer Scientist, System Analyst, Programmer, Software Engineer, Web Master, Web Designer, Network Administrator, System Designer, Project Manager, Lecturer, Database Designer and Administrator to name the few.

Undergraduate degree course encompasses at least 9 (nine) semester, including 1 (one) semester for industrial training.
Each student will be assigned an academic advisor who will assist the student in his/her academic studies. This includes advice on plan of study such as the selection of courses for the coming semester as well as the student's academic performance. The assigned College advisers are available throughout the academic year for consultation and advising.
